Cisterna

7 km southwards of Rovinj is the bay Cisterna and the same named beach located . A few meters before entering the campsite Veštar is an unpaved road leading to the beach.

The bay and the beach got their name Cisterna by an old Roman cistern which remains can still be found.

Mediterranean macchia predominates and in the summer it is rich on colors of bramble fruits, wild roses and blackberries.

The coast is gravel and the sea ground is sandy, the uniqueness of the beach is the crystal clean sea.

In the bay Cisterna are the remains of the antique Villa Rustics and its walls. Plenty remains of amphorae, oil lamp and tegulae have been found and also an ancient tomb from the II-IV century.
