Hospital - Prim.Dr. Martin Horvat
The hospital for orthopedics and rehabilitation "Primarius Dr. Martin Horvat" is situated on one of the most beautiful places in Croatia. It's 20 hectares wide and only three km away from Rovinj.
Because of its favorable micro climate and position protected from the wind makes it an ideal health resort. It's park has been declared as a protected park architecture for its variety of plantation. The park is infused by many tracks that spread like a star through the pine forest to the lookout tower. Next to the hospital building is the church of Saint Pelag with two 20 m high bell towers.
and and gravel beaches with a mild access to the sea is on the west side. Beside the clean sea and relaxation under the pine tree shade, the visitors will enjoy the beautiful view on Rovinj and the island Figarola.
The hospital has been build by Austria in 1888 as a children's treatment center. After the First world war it has been converted into a clinic for orthopedics, and today it's one of the oldest clinics in Croatia and Europe . It gained its best success in orthopedic surgery but then in 1990 it was converted as a hospital for rehabilitation only.
